Saudi End-of-Service Benefits Calculator

Estimate your award under Saudi Labor Law Articles 84–87 using your last applicable monthly wage and continuous service.

Half a month per year: first five yearsOne month per year: thereafterCalculated in SAR

Employment details

This standard formula is not suitable for domestic work or government pension schemes.

Generally include basic pay and contractually due allowances. Exclude variable commissions only where validly agreed under Article 86; do not use basic pay automatically.

The legal reason matters. An employer's termination or non-renewal is not automatically resignation.

Assumes continuous employment, inclusive first and last days, Gregorian service anniversaries and proportional fractions. The wage and reason for departure must be checked against your contract.

Your figures are calculated in this browser, not sent to a server.

How the Saudi calculation works

Article 84 · Base award

Half the final applicable monthly wage per year for the first five years. One full monthly wage per year after five years. Portions of a year are prorated.

Article 85 · Resignation

Below two consecutive years: zero. From two through five years: one-third. More than five but less than ten years: two-thirds. Ten years or more: full award.

Article 87 · Exceptions

Full award can apply to force majeure beyond the worker's control, or to a female worker ending the contract within six months of her marriage contract or three months of giving birth.

Important limits and special cases

Article 80 has specific requirements for dismissal without an award; merely being dismissed does not establish Article 80. Article 81 preserves statutory rights in qualifying worker departures. Domestic workers have a separate award rule: one month's wage for each four consecutive years of service with the same employer. Other contractual entitlements, pensions and regimes require separate review.
