How to pick colors from an image

Exact picking and flexible exports

Frequently asked questions

Does this tool upload my image?

No. Your JPEG, PNG or WebP stays in your browser. Color sampling, extraction and export work locally without an upload.

Can I pick a single pixel precisely?

Yes. Clicking the preview maps the tap location to the original image pixel. Semi-transparent pixels are shown blended over white; fully transparent pixels appear white.

What color formats and downloads are available?

View HEX, RGB and HSL codes, with contrast ratios against white and black. Export a PNG swatch sheet, CSS custom properties or JSON color data, or copy individual HEX codes.

Image limits and transparency

One JPG, PNG or WebP at a time, maximum 50 MiB, 8192 pixels per side and 32 megapixels total. Images are not sent to a server. Transparent pixels are skipped during palette extraction; a sampled transparent pixel is displayed as its color on white. Automatically extracted palettes may contain fewer than the requested swatches when the photo has very few distinct colors.
