View and remove image metadata
Photo files can contain camera details, timestamps, author text and location information in EXIF, XMP, IPTC or text blocks. This tool shows readable values and detected blocks, then removes supported metadata without recompressing the image data.
How to inspect and clean your photos
- Choose JPEG, PNG or WebP files. Select a file to review readable metadata, detected blocks and any warnings.
- Choose whether to keep the color profile. Clean one image or the batch; valid display orientation is retained when necessary.
- Review the result and download individual cleaned images or ZIP files. Download a JSON report only if you want a record of the original metadata.
Metadata inspection and private batch cleanup
Inspect supported EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC and PNG text; preserve compressed image data and original format; clean files individually or in batches; download selected results and a JSON inspection report.
When metadata cleanup is useful
Review photos before public sharing, remove supported camera and location tags from product images, or inspect a photo’s embedded text. Keep a copy of your original when dates, authorship or camera settings matter.
Frequently asked questions
Does cleaning reduce image quality or change orientation?
The cleaner copies compressed image data without recompressing it. It keeps valid display orientation and, by default, the color profile. Removing a color profile can change how an image looks. Review your downloaded copy.
Can I remove GPS location and EXIF metadata?
Supported EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC and text blocks are removed. A minimal orientation block may remain, and an optional color profile can remain. This is not a guarantee of anonymity: visible content, filenames or unsupported structures can still disclose information.
Are my photos uploaded or stored by ToolPaxa?
Inspection, cleanup and downloads run in your browser; photo contents are not sent to an application server. Your source files are not overwritten. Download results before closing or reloading this tab.
Which formats and batch sizes are supported?
JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported, up to 20 files, 50 MiB each and 200 MiB combined. ZIP downloads are split into parts of up to 64 MiB. Extended or damaged structures may be inspected but refused for cleanup.
Privacy, compatibility and limits
Use a modern browser. GIF, SVG, HEIC, TIFF and camera raw files are not supported. Extended JPEG structures such as MPO, JUMBF or HDR cannot be safely cleaned here. Inspection covers supported fields and may shorten long values; it is not a complete forensic audit. File limits are ceilings, and device memory can lower practical capacity. Review warnings and outputs before sharing.
Preview and image decoding validation are limited to 32 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. Larger files receive container inspection only; check their appearance yourself before sharing.
